Undoubtedly one of Gianni Versace’s best and most beloved collections, Spring 1992 saw the designer inspired by nature mixed with his profound sense for the extravagance, the collection is a landmark in terms of the development of the house codes of Versace

This jacket in particular is a monumental piece to the history and testament of Gianni’s designs, as this is the first debut of the leopard print, which has since become synonymous with the Versace label. The jacket is frequently featured in retrospectives and exhibitions of the late designer, notably the 1998 MMOA exhibition commemorating the late designer and its subsequent book which uses the very print of this jacket lining as its cover art. Donatella has dedicated her spring 2018 collection as a tribute to her late brother, offering a retrospective and reissuing many iconic designs. This is one of the jackets that opened the show along with its original ensemble, note that the reissue does not have the fabulous baroque print silk lining and instead a plain black lining

This jacket was also famously worn by the OG Gianni Versace fan, Lady Gaga for her performance at the 2011 MMVA awards

It was modelled by Marpessa Hennink for the 25th look on the runway and modelled by Linda Evangelista for the seasonal campaign shot by Irving Penn

The jacket is made from 100% Silk, the outer featuring a leopard print while the silk lining features a mix of signature Versace baroque and animal prints

Single button design with a large gold starfish with rhinestone embellishments, also present on both side as pocket fasteners

An extra detail featuring a cutesy ribbon design on the cuffs

The skirt is made from a matching fabric with a pencil skirt silhouette, side zip closure
