Continuing the themes of Spring 2002, where themes of deconstruction and reconstruction are now experimented in gothic tones

The collection featured various reconstructed pieces made of numerous fabrics, including velvet and wool, on crop jackets and slip dresses.

While there were beautiful distressed blazers and flirtatious slip dresses with holes, this particular dress stood out as the highlight of the season

The dress impeccably melds Watanabe's deep appreciation for punk culture with his meticulous focus on tailoring. Despite being crafted from separate pieces of scrap-like fabric, the tailoring of the dress flawlessly hugs and accentuates the curves of the body, creating a captivating mermaid silhouette that gracefully sways with each step

This dress was highly sought after and was reissued in the ss19 Junya collection, we recommend watching a video of that runway to understand the shape and movement of the garment
