The collection is strikingly youthful in its simplicity, Ford pointed out in an interview that he wanted ”to go back to something a little more architectural a little cleaner“, citing it is “Farrah Fawcett and Blondie, with a touch of Gwyneth Paltrow”. He predicted with exceeding accuracy the impending early 2000s fashion, more youthful, more colours and quite comfortable to wear, but always considered and made in the most luxurious way possible

Sharing elements from the menswear collection, this is made from ostrich leg leather, an extremely precious and expensive leather, distinguished by its unique contrasting pattern of reptilian-like skin texture and contrasted with a large centre scale. Coloured in a base metallic silver paint and then meticulously hand painted and hand brushed by artisans around the centre scales, giving it a striking futuristic look

The slim clasp version of the bag was featured on the runway on the 3rd and 5th look (an ivory version also exists), Ford specifically mentioned this bag in his show notes, “Handbags are small, simple and flat, some with chain.” This particular flapped bag is featured in an rather obscure Spring 2000 campaign shot by Sir Mario Testino, with this very bag placed front and centre in an image with Liisa Winkler and a lovely Persian

Made from carefully selected strips of ostrich leg leather that are produced with the highest regards by artisans, this is the crème de la crème of Tom Ford Gucci’s offering’s which are produced in extremely limited numbers and for exclusively sold to selected VIPs

Paired with a seasonal exclusive metal chain design, with a metal plate with Gucci logo engraving

Magnetic closure hardware also with Gucci Logo engraving

The flap is lined with black lambskin and the bag is lined with Gucci logo nylon fabric

Defects: Well loved by previous owners, there are overall signs of use on the bag, a mark on the front flap and some stains on the inner lining
