Tom Ford stated in an interview that the season was very much focused on craftsmanship, it was one of the hardest seasons he has worked with fabric research, including a trip to Japan to research fabrics from the 20s. He wanted to return to the strong powerful rock and roll girl which was really the original inspiration for Gucci when he first started in 1995, to create a touchable kind of sexiness with fabrics and craftsmanship
